Ego Integrity vs. Despair: To understand an empathize with a group of people I have no personal experience in, I started with psychological research. Erik Erikson was an ego psychologist who developed one of the most popular theories of development There are 8 stages of development in this theory, but Ego integrity vs despair is the last stage that goes from age 65 on, which is the age of retirement.
